Beijing, December 6th (Xinhua) - The Tariff and Tariff Commission of the State Council of China announced on December 6th that, in accordance with the exchange of documents between the Chinese government and relevant governments, zero tariffs will be imposed on 98% of tariff items originating from six least developed countries, including Angola, the Gambia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Madagascar, Mali, and Mauritania, starting from December 25th, 2023.

In November 2021, China announced that it would further expand the range of products with zero tariff treatment for least developed countries that have established diplomatic relations with China. In December 2021, the State Council Tariff and Tariff Commission issued an announcement that a preferential tax rate of zero will be applied to 98% of tariff items originating from the least developed countries. The applicable country and implementation time will be announced separately based on the progress of the exchange of documents.

China provides zero tariff treatment to 98% of the tariff items of products from six countries, including Angola, which is conducive to practicing the spirit of friendly cooperation between China and Africa and jointly building a high-level community with a shared future between China and Africa. In the future, China will continue to gradually grant zero tariff treatment to all least developed countries that have established diplomatic relations with China for 98% of their tariff items based on the progress of the exchange of documents.
